The Real Songwriters of Melbourne return with their renowned RSOM Live Showcase series, bringing another exciting lineup of original artists to the stage at the Bergy Bandroom on Saturday May 2. This special event also marks RSOM’s 12th birthday, celebrating over a decade of supporting and championing Melbourne’s songwriting community. The showcase will feature four members of the RSOM community, each representing a different corner of Melbourne’s diverse songwriting landscape. RSOM welcomes… George Charra , Marcela Ljutic , NJ Rijs and the premiere of new progressive pop rock duo So… The Real Songwriters of Melbourne is a creative community that has helped kickstart hundreds of songwriters’ careers. From celebrated Open Mic Nights to a growing membership platform, networking events and industry resources, RSOM has become a leading force in supporting Melbourne’s independent songwriting scene. Throughout its history, RSOM showcases have provided emerging artists with the opportunity to perform their original music to new audiences. From the Paris Cat Jazz Club to the Workers Club and Wesley Anne, RSOM now returns to the much-loved Bergy Bandroom for another afternoon celebrating original live music. In 2026, the showcase has also evolved into more than just a performance. Participating songwriters are involved in the process behind presenting the show, creating a hands-on collaborative experience that helps artists better understand what goes into building a successful live event. Songwriters, music lovers and supporters of Melbourne’s live music scene are invited to come along and experience another fantastic afternoon of original live music.
